In this post,today we are going to see how to run two or more operating systems
on a same pc at same time without restarting the system.This can be done by using virtual machine(VM).First of all know what is Virtual Machine.A virtual machine is an software implementation which will execute programs like physical machine.most people would like to run more than one operating system on their pc because feature provided in one os is not available on others.By using virtual machine you can install windows,linux and even android also.There are many virtual machine softwares such as vmware player,vmware workstation etc..In here we are going to see how to install vmware workstation.ok let’s start,
- Run applications on multiple operating systems at the same time.
- Remotely connect to virtual machines running on another instance of Workstation.
- provides a virtual magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope in a virtual machine.
steps to be followed:
- Go to Vmware site and download vmware workstation as a trial or full version.
- After downloading is completed double click on vmware setup.
- Now Click on Next to dismiss welcome message.
- Then choose the type you prefer.I you don't know about it then simply select as Typical and then click on next.
- Choose the directory in which you want to install vmware workstation by using change button and then click on Next.
- On next window if you want to check updates during application startup check the tick box otherwise uncheck it and click next.
- On the next window check the box if you want to send feedback to vmware workstation otherwise uncheck the box and click on next.
- Then click on next.
- click on continue. Now the vmware will start copying(installing) files on your computer.
- Atlast a window will poup for your name and serial number.Note:If you dont have an serial number click on next and the software will be activated in trial mode for 30 days.
- Atlast Restart your computer
To start a new virtual machine
- After completing above steps,on desktop click on VMware workstation shortcut and then select yes i accept the terms in license agreement and click on Next
- To create new virtual machine click on create a new virtual machine
- After that choose typical and click on Next.
- select how to install operating system and click on Next.
- On next window select what type of operating system is yours if vmware didn’t detect it automatically and click on next.
- Then Enter the name of your virtual machine and select the location in where you want to load your virtual machine and click on Next.
- After that provide the maximum disk size you are allowing for the virtual machine and click on Next.
- Then click on next and then on next window click Finish..Thats it,now you have created a new virtual machine.
